Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Ashish Noel (“Prelimo”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and safeguards your information when you use the Prelimo web app at prelimo.in. It is written to align with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP). It is not a substitute for legal advice.

What we collect

• Account data: when you sign up, our authentication provider (Clerk) processes your email address and, if you choose social sign-in, your name/profile photo.
• Usage data: your quiz attempts, answers, scores, streaks, bookmarks, and study progress, so the product can function and personalise.
• Anonymous device identifier: a random ID stored in a cookie for visitors who haven’t signed in, so a daily quiz can be attempted once per day without an account. It carries no personal meaning.
• Local preferences: theme and a “today’s quiz taken” hint stored in your browser’s local storage.

Payments for Prelimo Pro are handled by our payment processor (Razorpay). Razorpay processes your payment details directly; we do not collect or store your card, UPI, or bank details. We retain only a transaction record (plan, amount, and a Razorpay payment reference) to service your account.

How we use it

• To operate the daily quiz, leaderboards, streaks, and personalised study features.
• To maintain your account and keep your progress consistent across devices.
• To improve question quality and the product, in aggregate.

We do not sell your personal data.

Where it lives

Data is stored with our infrastructure providers: authentication via Clerk, database and hosting via Supabase and Vercel, and payment processing via Razorpay. These providers may process data outside India in line with their own terms.

Your rights

Under the DPDP Act you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and you may withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us via the Contact page. We will respond within a reasonable period.

Cookies

We use only essential cookies: the authentication session cookie (Clerk) and the anonymous device identifier described above. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

Children

Prelimo is intended for UPSC aspirants and is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from them.
